Hang Ten - OG

An orig 1970s Hang Ten knitted T in brown. My heart just about stopped "Fred Sanford" style when I saw this pup on the racks of a Torrance thrift store and I scored for it for (well…that would be cruel to mention how little it cost at the time-but that was back in 1989). A lot of wild shit went down with this turd-colored beauty wrapped snugly around my torso. Some meetings in which we pitched Dirt magazine to a gray-haired NY publisher, for instance. I maybe went to a few indie rock concerts like Fugazi, Helmet, Free Kitten, Sugar. I know I wore it once to a trade show and met the original Hang Ten guy and he was super stoked (on the shirt, not necessarily on me). Spike also borrowed this one for at least two years, and I'm pretty positive he was wearing it during a photo session and interview of the Master Cluster for Inside Media, a trade magazine covering the world of newspapers and magazines. I ended up with it back in my quiver after we used it for a Dirt Christmas wish list photo or something.
